This is such an important piece. The shift from consuming to creating, from comparing to tracking your own progress, changes everything. Treating your feed like an environment you get to curate is the move :)
It resonates so much! I am starting my own business/personal project and something I’ve realised is that I have spent more time looking at others. I would lie if I say that it’s just as “inspiration” but no, usually I fall in that trap of comparison.
This piece is a reminder of what social media can do to us if we don’t put boundaries. Is like with anyone, we set boundaries for healthy relationships. 💜
Starting something of your own makes the comparison trap so much worse because suddenly everything feels like proof you're behind. I think the "just inspiration" thing is something we all tell ourselves at some point. the awareness you have about it is already a big deal though. And yes, boundaries with social media work the same way as with people. You decide what gets in and how much space it takes. Thank you for reading and good luck with your project! 💜
Thank you for reading 💖 For lifting specifically, Lifting With Sarah and Gains by Brains are both really solid — good balance between practical and evidence-based. I also love watching Sharelle Grant. And for something a bit broader, Peter Attia's podcast is a staple for me. It's less lifting-focused but if you're into longevity, health and performance with actual science behind it, it's hard to beat.
“Too much information, not enough execution” you nailed this one. Ugh, it’s true for so many things! Internet gave us access to so much information, which is good and bad.

So much truth in this! I'm curious what YouTubers you gravitate towards for the education piece when it comes to lifting.

Right?! The internet gave us access to everything, but no one taught us how to filter it 😅
